Systemic inflammatory response triggered by major surgery，trauma，bums and ischemia-reperfusion can cause organ mjury and lead to a higher morbidity and mortality peri-operatively，which has become the pivotal challenges for anesthesiologists．Understanding the pathways and mechanisms of inflammation will translate into widespread benefit for basic research and clinical trial，promote bench to bedside，and improve the outcome of patients．Here，the pathway of immune & inflammation and their relation to organ injury ale overviewed．
