In steel continuous casting, final electromagnetic stirring(F-EMS)possesses several superior metallurgical functions, such as eliminating center segregation, interrupting columnar dendrites, and enlarging the center equiaxed zone[1].In the present work,a mathematical model coupling flow, heat transfer, solidification, and electromagnetic force was employed based on a hybrid method of two-dimensional(2-D)heat transfer model and three-dimensional(3-D)coupled model. The electromagnetic force was coupled by loading into the momentum equation as the momentum source. The effects of various stirrer currents on the fluid flow behavior of the strand were discussed.Solidified shell re-melting was analyzed considering the force on molten steel.
