术后痛的临床前期研究-高脂饮食和性别的影响

摘要

Obesity is often associated with serious medical conditions such as metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis, heart disease, and diabetes. In perioperative medicine, physicians including anesthesiologists often focus on obesity-related risks for airway management, respiration, and drug dosing, but little is known about obesity effects on perioperative pain. In this preclinical study, Long-Evans rats were fed a high fat (HF)diet (40% calories from fat, primarily butter fat ) for 6 weeks to induce obesity followed by hindpaw plantar incision (Brennan model of postoperative incisional pain). Mechanical and thermal pain sensitivity were assessed by measuring withdrawal thresholds (PWT) for up t0 2 weeks postoperatively.
