In the light of increasing amount of integration between urban and health planning，this paper endeavours to highlight specific urban planning and design parameters that attribute to healthy urban planning through a comprehensive consolidation of relevant literature，guidelines and case studies．This is done through first highlighting the concept of healthy city and its component indicators． The indicators are then being quantified and associated with urban planning instruments．Lastly，these indicators are being incorporated into the urban planning process to bring forward the pro posed approach for healthy urban planning，with detailed implementation requirements discussed．Due to the broad coverage of the healthy city concept，the focus of this research is confined to the association of healthy city in the perspective of builting environment．
