Scattering problem of a spherical inclusion embedded within the surrounding poroelastic medium is analyzed in the context of Biot's theory. Introduced Darcy's Law governing fluid flow across the interface, the formulation of a transition matrix [C. S. Yeh, et al., J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 116, 655-676 (2004)] is developed for the most general boundary conditions applicable at the interface between two porous media. To illustrate the effect of interface conditions, we consider a simple case of the scattering problem of a poroelastic sphere embedded within the surrounding poroelastic medium subjected to an incident plane compressional wave. The numerical amplitude of normal traction shows that there is obvious difference between sealed interface condition and open interface condition. In addition, the effect of parameters of Biot theory on scattering is also examined.
