A combined beam wall in accordance with Fig. 1 comprises the primary elements (in this case, H-beams with bulbs on the flange ends), the intermediary sheeting also called secondary elements (in this case double Z-sheet piles) and the connecting elements. For technical reasons to do with pile driving and shear force transmission, the connecting elements are joined to the primary elements by discontinuous welds. It is also assured that these elements fully contribute to the resistance and stiffness properties of the cross-section.
