摘要

The calculation model employed accurately described the principal phenomena of the quay wall under investigation. The most important factors influencing the observed deformation behaviour were shown to be firstly the mud layers present despite mud excavation and secondly a relatively compressible sand horizon. The landward-directed movements of the quay head resulted from rather extensive movements of the whole quay wall area. The calculations showed that there was no threat to structural safety. The agreement between the recorded data and calculated movements and anchor strengths is very good, also taking into account the complexity of the construction procedure and the non-homogeneous site foundation situation.
