Today bioluminescent analysis is one of promising techniques of biological research. Bacterial bioluminescence has high sensitivity to action of different inhibitors of biological activity: anesthetics, narcotics, factory poisons, insecticides, pesticides, poison and medicine substances. Microbiosensor B17-677F bioassay designed at the Institute of Biophysics SB RAS on the basis of lyophilized luminous Photobacterium phosphoreum bacteria is used to detect integral toxicity of water samples. Analogous bioassays (Microtox, ToxAlert, LUMIStox) are used in many countries. Luminescent genetically modified microorganisms (Pseudomonas, E. coli, etc.) as a test-object are widely used among luminescent bioassays now. The aim of the present work is to test the river and sewage water of different regions of Siberia by 2 bioluminescent bioassays based on lyophilized marine luminous bacteria (Microbiosensor-B17-677F) and genetically modified luminous strain of E. coli (Microbiosensor-ECK) to detect zones of impaired water quality.
