Apical Canal Sealing Ability of Tetracalcium Phosphate/Dicalcium Phosphate Cements

摘要

Three calcium phosphate cements were developed for endodontic clinical use. An equimolar mixture of tetra-calcium phosphate and dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate was used as the powder phase for two cements. An equimolar mixture processed by a high-pressure steam procedure was used as the powder phase for the other cement. Either 2.1percent or 37.0percent citric acid containing solution was used as the liquid solution. Apical canal sealing ablity was estimated in this study to evaluate the usefulness of the cement as a root canal sealer, compared with traditional commercially available sealer. It was considered that cements with a liquid phase composed of higher concentration of citric acid show significant apical canal sealing ability.
