NAVSYS High Gain Advanced GPS Receiver (HAGR)rnuses a digital beam-steering antenna array to providernadditional gain in the direction of the GPS satelliternsignals. This increases the received signaloise ratio onrnthe satellites tracked and also improves the accuracy ofrnthe pseudo-range and carrier-phase observations. Therndirectivity of the digital beams created from the antennarnarray also reduces the effect of multipath signals and GPSrnjamming and interference.rnThis paper describes the operation of the HAGR digitalrnbeam steering array and includes test data demonstratingrnthe high accuracy observation that it produces, Testrnresults showing the benefits of the digital spatialrnprocessing in reducing multipath errors and GPS jammingrnare also included.
