During every filtration operation in which solids are separated from a liquid media, one ofrnthe considerations is what to do with the solids. Do they have an economic benefit or must theyrngo to a landfill? In the case of spent filter cake where diatomaceous earth filter aids are used,rncomposted organic solids from food and beverage processing may bring significant benefits inrncrop yields when used in agricultural applications.
