It has been reported that crystalline form racemates can be resoluted by various methods, but for optical resolution of liguid form racemates such as racemic alcohols, the method is limited in chromatograph. However, chiral compounds cannot be obtained on large scale by such method, so the chiral alcohols are very expensive. In our previous papers, bio-polymer materials, wool [1,2], casein [3-4] and mushroom [5] have been found to be able to use as optical resolution materials for some racemic alcohols to give corresponding optical alcohols. Recently, it has been found that in the optical resolution of racemic 2-amino-l-butanol, when a mushroom, hypsizygus marmoreus (H M), was used as a resolution material, (+)-2-amino-l-butanol could be obtained, and another mushroom, flammulina velutiper (F V), was used as a resolution material, (-)-2-amino-1-butanol could be obtained.
