摘要

The gap between developed and less-developed areas will not be narrowed until the rapid development is realized of science, technology and economy in less-developed areas. It is quite effective to choose and nurture pillar industries with unequalized measures so as to promote the economic growth of the whole. It is a good example how the rise of Yunnan cigarette industries promotes its economic prosperity. It not only follows the objective law but also reflects the necessity and desire for a speedy economic development in less- developed areas, and moreover indicates the feasibility of the effective approach above. This article details the requirements and measures of scientific selection and nurturing of pillar industries in impoverished areas.
