This investigation involves a systematic study of the chemical characteristics of feed coal and coal-combustion byproducts (CCBs) from a Kentucky coal-fired power plant. The goals of this study are to characterize the major-, minor-, and trace-element compositions and to evaluate the variability of the feed coal and CCBs. Emphasis will be placed on elements of potential environmental concern that may affect the utilization of these coal byproducts.
