摘要

This paper provides an update on the University of Surrey Alternative Geometry Hybrid Rocket research program. The paper begins with a brief description of the motivation for the research and covers some requirements peculiar to the small and secondary spacecraft industry. The Alternative Geometry Hybrid Rocket is then described illustrating the features of two separate engineering model designs and representative firing traces. Green propellant combinations tested with both engineering models are summarised and their relative safety aspects are addressed. Finally, select experimental results are presented to highlight the advantages of the design as well as the differences from conventional hybrid rockets.
