In Russia hydrogen peroxide of concentration higher than 85 % has been applied as an oxidizer and as a monopropellant in power installations of various applications more than 40 years. In the present report an application of hydrogen peroxide (HP) as a monopropellant for catalyst rocket engines for control systems of space vehicles is considered. The selection of HP as a monopropellant for the control systems of objects "Progress", "Soyuz" was motivated by low toxicity of HP itself and intoxicity of products of its decomposition.rnA purpose of this report is to present an experience of RSC "APPLIED CHEMISTRY" in the field of creation, development, and exploitation of catalysts and catalyst beds of HP decomposition. In the report main properties of the applied catalysts, the design of catalyst beds, working parameters of the catalysts and catalyst beds being exploited, experimental data on investigations and a concept of approach to a mathematical modeling of the catalytic decomposition of HP are described.
