摘要

A new tool is designed for application and higher performance on the basis of the experimental results of a laser-guided deep-hole boring tool. The tool is composed of an optical head, a single-edge counter-boring head and a cylindrical actuator unit. Six piezoelectric actuators are located on the top and at a position 45° from the bottom at the front and rear parts of the unit for precise control of the tool. A boring robot and a probe are also presented, which can bore and evaluate a hole of limitless depth, respectively. A built-in motor is used for driving the counter-boring head of the robot. An inchworm mechanism using piezoelectric actuators is introduced for feeding the robot and the probe. The probe can evaluate hole straightness, size, roundness etc. in one scanning.
