This paper presents an impact analysis methodology for design of products and processes for reliability and quality. Some important aspects in design of products and processes are to be able to estimate the impact of possible failures on product/process reliability and quality and be able to identify design alternatives that enhance product and process reliability and quality. The methodology presented in this paper combines the structural and qualitative analysis of Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) techniques with dynamic and qualitative analysis of Petri net modeling approach and is able to analyze multiple failure effect and their impacts on reliability and quality of product and process design.
