With the spread of co-generation systems, the number of requests to develop corresponding electric technologies has also increased. Therefore, in order to promote more system installations, it became necessary for Osaka Gas to tackle the development of electric technologies by itself. In response to this situation, Osaka Gas established an electric technology laboratory in 1990 for conducting experiments and developing power technologies for co-generation systems. Since then, the lab has developed various power technologies, mainly for interconnecting co-generation systems with the power grid. Nowadays, we are considering technologies for future multiple services, such as power retailing services as well. This paper introduces the problems for involved in co-generation systems and presents several solution technologies developed at this lab.
