The paper discusses conceptual aspects of the comprehensive geoecological monitoring of gasrnproduction objects located in the northern areas of Russia. Monitoring is considered as a tool inrnensuring ecological stability in the development area, as well as environmental security andrnreliability of facility operations under complicated geotechnical and permafrost soil conditions.rnThe review also includes the type of effects gas industry exerts on Arctic ecosystems. Goals,rntasks, and principles are defined for setting up and implementing a comprehensive geoecologicalrnmonitoring at natural and technical complexes at different field development stages.
