摘要

The paper briefly presents the results of the study on coalbed methane resource distribution nationally. The results showed that coalbed methane resources in China amount to 14.34 × 10~(12) m~3 from coal seams with methane content of more than 4m~3/t and burial depth is smaller than 2000m. Coalbed methane resources in China are mainly distributed in the northern gas accumulating region and the western part of the southern gas-accumulating region. Whereas, coalbed methane resources in the north-east and north-west gas accumulating regions are relatively small. In the target areas, coalbed methane resource density is relatively high with those >1.50×10~8 m~3/km~2 accounting for 54%. Most target areas have resource density 1.50～3.50×10~8m~3/km~2 with the highest only 8.77×10~8m~3/km~2. Coalbed methane resources are mainly distributed in coal seams with burial depth smaller than 1500m. Since the depth of exploration was relatively small in the past, the proportion of predicted coalbed methane reserve is low.
