摘要

Microreaders are suitable devices to realise compact and flexible steam reformers for local hydrogen production in fuel cell systems. Beneath the compact volume of the reactors they offer further advantages in mass and heat transportation. By running several small reactors in parallel it is easy to set-up systems which can react quickly on load changes. The possibility to integrate the necessary heat source into the reactor enhances, furthermore, the energy efficiency of the whole system by reducing the use of fuel gas and even more by reducing the demand of air flow and thus the electrical power consumption of the auxiliary equipment like compressors.
