The influence of La oxide particles in a high temperature oxidation of P/M Ferrite stainless steels was investigated. In this study, the influence of a change in the density and grain size of the base material by using the Fe-17Cr alloy made by the P/M method, and the additional amount of La_2O_3 and LaCrO_3 and the dispersion of the same La_2O_3 and LaCrO_3 were examined. It was found that the high temperature oxidation resistance improved rapidly with the disappearance of the continuous pores in relation to the rise in the density of the base material Moreover, it was found that the high temperature oxidation resistance improved remarkably by adding either of the oxide particles, and the best ratio of additional amounts of oxide particles and Cr in the base material using La_2O_3 particles.
