In the previous paper, we reported the densification of the bronze matrix is promoted by the diffusion of Cr under solid state sintering at 1030K. In the present work, the effects of Cr particle sizes on sintering and mechanical properties of Bronze-Cr alloy were investigated and discussed for sintered bearing material withstanding in the use of higher load applications. Mixed powders were prepared from elemental Cr powders and water-atomized 90Cu-10Sn powders, the particles size of which are 150μm and lower and 1~38μm respectively. Compacts pressed at 390MPa were sintered at 1030K for 3.6~180ks in H_2, Tensile strength of Bronze-2mass%Cr which Cr particle size of 106~150μm was lower than Bronze-Omass%Cr at 3.6ks sintering time. With increasing sintering time, tensile strength of 2mass%Cr increased, and became the same with Omass%Cr after 90ks sintering time. On the other hand, tensile strength increased with decreasing of Cr particle size. Also, Bronze -2mass%Cr alloy was confirmed to have good tribological properties as compared with Bronze -Omass%Cr.
