摘要

Hot isostatic pressing (HIP) of powder metallurgy (P/M) nickel-base superalloys has been a viable commercial process for over 25 years. Through rapidly-solidified, gas-atomized P/M processing, metal powder can improve the chemical homogeneity of alloys with both simple and complex compositions. With HIP P/M processing, more highly alloyed superalloys can be employed thus providing improved high temperature strength, creep resistance, and low cycle fatigue life over lesser alloyed cast/wrought (C/W) materials. In the current work, various mechanical properties will be presented comparing HIP P/M alloys (e.g. Rene 95, 720, LC Astroloy, etc.) versus traditional C/W alloys (e.g. 718, Waspaloy, D-979, etc.).
