Terasen Gas Inc., a natural gas transmission and distribution utility in British Columbia, Canada, hasrnproposed building a test facility for turbine gas meters using carbon dioxide as the test medium. Thisrnpaper describes the advantages of using carbon dioxide as a test fluid for calibrating turbine meters. Itrnalso describes the design and results of a research program conducted at Southwest Research Institute inrnthe fall of 2003. The program investigated the suitability of carbon dioxide for use in this application,rnthrough comparison of calibrations in carbon dioxide and natural gas.
