Now it is the booming period for China magnet industry. Both performance & output of produced NdFeB magnets are increased and improved sharply: output of sintered NdFeB was 6500 tons in 2000, it reached to 8,000 tons in 2001. Accoding to the forecast of National Associetion of Magnets the outpt of China will be 75% of global total in 2005, i.e. it will be reached to 15,000 tons at that time. But in fact it was already 18,000 tons in 2003. How big the jump is in output expansion! The magnetic performance of products is improving at the same time: magnets of N50,N48M, N46H are the highest grade made in China before 2003. But N52, N52M are available now! As it is well known that such high grade magnets may be no problem for manufacturers equipt with advanced hard ware such as strip caster, hydrogen decrepitation furnac, rubber isostatic press (RIP), continuous sintering furnace....But for most Chinese magnet manufacturers such equipment is hard to use simply due to their extremely high cost. On the other hand, the market demand for high grade magnets is risen. How to meet the requests from customer without changing traditional equipment is the major problem faced by Chinese magnet manufacturers. More and more strict requests for NdFeB magnets have been risen by customers: they asked not only high magnetic properties such as high Br, high iHc and high (BH)max, but the consistency of magnetic properties as well, moreover, the thermal stability (the irrevercible flux loss should be low), the corrosion resistance should be high enough. In order to meet such requests advanced equipment is needed, but the technology, quality control and nice management are more important. Based on the traditional equipment, by improving process and quality control system established we developed new process, which is able to make high grade magnets.
