Magnet Technology is an enabling technology which has been penetrating into diversified fields associated with our daily life. A few innovative industrial applicationoriented cases, in which NdFeB permanent magnets play a critical role, are revealed in this paper. Classic permanent magnet assemblies have for a long time been used in window cleaning. Innovation of the present design by applying high energy density NdFeB magnets leads to a floatable magnet assembly for aquarium cleaning which is known in the market as Magfloat~® product group. Their work and design principles are presented in this study. Another example is a novel permanent magnet assembly technique which has been developed for assembling high force magnetic detachers employed by shops for an anti-theft purpose. The world's strongest permanent magnet detachers with a size D54x75 mm have so far been developed and have been brought into market, with 1.5 Tesla being on the device bore surface and 0.5 Tesla being 10 mm above the bore surface. Furthermore, finite element analysis and design software used as a design tool is discussed, whose results have been verified by the experiments.
