Mist Elimination is a critically important topic but often overlookedrncomponent for liquid/gas separation. Typically, the critical naturernof this topic is discovered when there is a serious operationalrnproblem such as a failed emissions test due to carryover, or impairedrnsystem operation due to excessive pressure drop. This paper willrnfocus on the key areas of avoiding mist eliminator performance issuesrnand highlight the concept of controlling the wet/dry interface-thernfundamental task of mist eliminators. Included in this paper will berncase studies of wet scrubbers, emerging strategies for aerosol removalrnusing mist eliminator media, and methods that can be used to avoidrnproblems and strategies for alleviating performance issues.
