Role-based access control (RBAC) models have generated a great interest in the security community as a powerful and generalized to security management. This paper presents a security model named Improved workflow and role-based access control (IWRBAC), on the basis of full analyzing role-based access control models. Workflow, Data elements and some constraints are added and the definitions and relations of elements are introduced in the model. Furthermore, formal description of the model is given in the paper. The fulfillment indicates IWRBAC model can meet the security requirements of access control .It is a useful reference for the design of security access control in the information system.
