The workflow patterns play a more and more importantrnrole in the development and evaluations of workflowrnproducts today. In [2] Aalst et al. released twenty patternsrndescribing the control-flow perspective of workflow systems.rnWith the development of the applications of the workflowrnpatterns the number of patterns increased to forty three inrntheir latest paper [3]. In this paper a new formulation of thernworkflow patterns which is based on a synchronization-basedrnmodel of workflow logic and workflow semantics namedrnSynchro-Net [1] is proposed. With the new formulation thernworkflow patterns can be described in a compact andrnconsistent manner.
