摘要

In this article a novel scheme using matrix converter isrnproposed for control of three phase machines. The analysisrnshows that the scheme has several benefits. By eliminating therncommon mode voltage from the three phases of the machinernthe motor bearing current is entirely removed. The maximumrninsulation stress in the motor winding is limited to the peakrnvalue of input phase voltage. The power factor at the utilityrnend is controllable. By using matrix converters for powerrnconversion bulky capacitors are eliminated from the drive.
