The nature of the ignition source has significant impact on the gas explosion limit Using the selfdeveloped experimental system, experiments of ignition energy impacting on the gas explosion limit were studied. The study indicates that, with the ignition energy becoming higher, the free radicals produce more easily, the explosive reaction becomes faster, the gas explosion becomes easier, the scope of gas explosion limit becomes wider, and there is an exponential relationship between ignition energy and explosion limits. These laws have laid theoretical basis for the study of the gas explosion characteristics, as well as the effective prevention of underground gas explosion.
