摘要

The main aims of our study are to identify current issues labour market needs and demand within Nigeria and to develop a training programme to acquire and enhance employability and entrepreneurship skills among students. Twenty-four final year students participated in this project. Training consisted of eight 5 to 6 hours of lectures and tutorials per day for 8 days spread over a 10-week period. Almost all of the participants reported their experience on the program as highly rewarding. More than half of the students reported all aspects of the program as enlightening and highly beneficial, and almost all of them reported having acquired numerous skills, including entrepreneurial ability, communication skills, networking, listening ability, conflict resolution and self analysis. The impact of these acquired skills during the student's placement in industry and social enterprises will be discussed.
