Biofouling of spiral-wound RO/NF membranes is a technical problem with economicrnimplications. To control the problem in an economically balanced way there should bernattention on pre-treatment to establish feed water with low fouling potential and on optimizedrncleaning procedures to remove biofilms. This study focuses on water quality parameters andrnbiomass parameters which can be applied for both operational aspects in control of biofoulingrnunder field conditions.
