Multi-objective optimal configuration for traveling wave acquisition unit in distribution network

According to the topology characteristic of distribution network, traveling wave acquisition units(TWU) installed at all the terminals of branch must be greatly increase one-off investment. Thus, an multi-objective optimal configuration method for TWU in distribution network was proposed in the paper. Firstly, based on the topology structure of complicated distribution network, initial configuration scheme was presented. And then network fully observability was analyzed. A mathematical model was built by considering network fully observability, and maximal number of TWU. Binary particle swarm optimization(BPSO) was proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization problem. MATLAB simulation results show that the optimal configuration method can be rapidly achieved by synthetically evaluated, which can greatly decrease one-off investment and guarantee fault location accuracy and reliability, which has greatly practical engineering significance.
