摘要

This paper introduces a new way to detect the torque ripple from acoustic noise information. Acoustic noise of the brushless DC motor operating without load is studied in this paper to find the effect of electromagnetic torque ripples on the sound pressure spectrum. One anechoic chamber is employed in the noise measurement system to provide a relative quiet circumstance for the prototype motor. Several tests with various control strategies demonstrate the relationship between torque ripple and acoustic noise. From the results of experiment, the frequency points in sound pressure spectrum which react with the torque ripple are found. The torque ripple of the brushless DC motor can be deduced from the sound pressure level of these frequency points by further research.
