The current market for natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGL) has caused many midstreamrncompanies to turn to lower cost alternatives for gas processing. Low temperature separationrn(LTS) technologies have been used extensively by the gas processing industry for more thanrn50 years. Variations of LTS cover a wide range of feed gas conditions and have different capitalrnand operating cost requirements and recovery levels. This paper outlines several LTSrnconfigurations and compares cost and performance for a range of feed gas conditions, includingrnpressure and compositional effects. One new process, LTS-PLUS™, shows particular promisernas a low-cost option with increased recovery of higher value liquids.
