摘要

This paper presents a new approach using a robust extended Kalman filter (EKF) for induction motor speed estimation. The advancement of vector control in ac motor drives has become a widely acceptable technology to date. The recent techniques have emerged increasing attractions that sensorless vector controlled drives can achieve low costs and high reliability. This paper provides a design of a desired EKF to estimate the reference speed of the motor and exhibits the effectiveness of estimated rotor speed and fast dynamic response in simulation. The simulation was carried out on a very large induction motor running at the lowest speed which is the worst-case scenario from the control perspective and it can be further developing into experimental tests in the future.
