摘要

Reliability of distribution systems is one of the key performance indicator of the power system. Thus quantifying the reliability has an important role in planning the distribution system. There are a number of alternatives available to improve the reliability of the distribution system. Implementing automation and integrating DGs are two of such alternatives. Distribution automation improves the reliability by reducing the outage duration of the faults and DG integration provides an alternative energy source. In this paper the effect of these two strategies on the distribution reliability is evaluated separately and collectively. The analysis is carried out on a RBTS bus 2. The reliability indices are evaluated using FMEA technique.
