The low temperature in East Mongolian arctic winter may lead to the part of the bottom of the transformer insulating oil condensation, affecting the cooling of transformer. And then winding and core break down. Transformer vibration monitoring method has been widely researched and applied in transformer winding and core fault detection with its advantages of no electrical connection, easy installation and so on. Based on vibration monitoring of 500kV substation in Haibei East Mongolia No. 1 and No. 2 main transformers, this paper puts forward a diagnostic method of transformer winding and core based multi-features including time domain partial peak degree of vibration signal, frequency domain center frequency and energy ratio on time-frequency combined Dual Tree Complex Wavelet method(DT-CWT). The characteristic fingerprint database of the vibration signal of the transformer in the arctic area was established. It is found that the parameters of phrase B in No.1 main transformer of 500kVsubstation in Haibei were different from other transformers. By the maintenance of transformer windlass cover, it is found that there are some problems with the core transformer, such as uneven silicon steel sheet, larger the space in lamination. Then the diagnostic method of this article has been verified.
