We propose our approach to the next generation of computing: a new framework to create vision intelligence applications. A future vision suggested in the first Rebooting Computing Summit (RCS 1) consisted of ubiquitous computing that is fully integrated into the lives of people at all levels of society. RCS 1 further identified three pillars of future computing that are necessary to achieve this vision: (1) Application/HCI, (2) Energy efficiency, and (3) Security. In this paper, we propose a system incorporating software and hardware which aims at two goals: (1) to offer intelligent application development with state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and (2) to lower power consumption. We explain an implementation of a prototype for this system: a small and inexpensive camera box which provides vision intelligence with low power consumption.
