In the framework of discrete-event systems and based on state tree structures, modular supervisory control of computer based preventing electric mal-operation system is studied. For a substation with multiple bays, the plant and total specification are modeled as state tree structures. According to different bays, we decompose the total specification into several sub-specifications. Then, we design a separate optimal nonblocking supervisor (control logic) for each sub-specification, which is called sub-supervisor. If the sub-supervisors are conflicting, according to the modular supervisory control theory we introduce a coordinator to solve it. It is shown that modular supervisor is feasible and the closed behavior of the modular supervisory controlled system is both optimal and nonblocking.
