Modern power system networks are often subjected to high stress due to meet the growing energy demand and operated close to their maximum stability limits. As a result, these networks are becoming less secure and always expecting the risk of voltage instability. Therefore, it has become inevitable to incorporate dynamic voltage stability analysis during planning of modern power system networks. As it provides the most accurate response of the actual dynamics of voltage stability when appropriate modelling is included. The best method to do dynamic voltage stability analysis is by utilizing the voltage stability indices (VSI). Hence in this paper, four system variable based VSI namely Lmn index, LQP index, fast voltage stability index (FVSI) and voltage collapse point indicators (VCPI) have been considered to identify the most vulnerable or weakest regions in power system network. During the index calculation load increment are conducted dynamically in two ways: only Q load and PQ load together. Based on the sensitivity of the indices towards the voltage collapse point, a comparative study among the indices has also been conducted. The test case under investigation is IEEE-14 bus system which has been designed and simulated in PSCAD environment.
