摘要

Tapered-slot antenna is a classic example of a wideband radiator used in phased array antenna system. In this paper, 6-18GHz tapered slot Vivaldi antenna (32mm × 16mm × 1.6mm) with two radiation flares is designed. Various characteristics such as reflection coefficient, radiation patterns and gain are measured. In addition, the effect of exponential tapering rate (R) and cavity diameter (R1) on antenna response are studied through parametric analysis. From the simulation results it is seen that return loss is high at lower value of R. Similarly, it is shown that the antenna performance is satisfactory at an optimum value of R1equal to 2. The antenna is designed using HFSS software and concluding remarks are reported.
