摘要

There has been a great research work on PID controller tuning for AVR by various methodologies. This paper describes adaption of IEEE-1992 AC1A excitation system model for AVR system of power generator. Necessary modifications have been made and PID values derived from Zeigler-Nichols method. Comparison is done based on model 2 which is taken as a reference from the earlier research work. The performance criteria have been selected from the Control Engineering basics. The pros and cons have been discussed.
