摘要

Litter is a nuisance, an insult to aesthetic and an economic burden to the collection and waste disposal authority. Littering is still a problem in most towns and cities in Malaysia. The implementation of LiFE (Litter-Free Event) is simple and suit all types of function and events. It can be an effective environmental education tool to instill environmental knowledge and create awareness, able to get an active community participation in a wider coverage which can be incorporated into the solid waste management system as part of the integrated strategy. LiFE's ultimate goal is to change public attitude, volition and lifestyles towards a clean and healthy environment. Therefore, LiFE can be adopted into our waste management system as a way forward for a sustainable waste management strategy ensuring the cleanliness of our towns and cites.
