CIE Illuminant D50 was simulated by a new fluorescent lamp with a single layer of fluorescent materials with a combination of visible and ultraviolet radiation. As the quality of the simulator is in a category BC(CIELAB) according to the calculation method of CIE Publication No.51 with the D50 metamers data, and the general color rendering index Ra is 98, the simulator was clearly shown to be practically useful.
