It seems from the case study of Eilat that the evidence of an UHI in an arid urban environment can be more pronounced than expected in comparison to other desert cities located in extremely hot and dry areas along the sea, such as Kuwait. It should also be noticed that the UHI is especially pronounced during summer days. Therefore, in the specific case of Eilat, future planning should take into account the location and layout of urban development in order to avoid the negative influence of the urban heat island in a hot climate.
