摘要

Environmental disasters, such as flooding, forest fires, volcano eruptions or earthquakes, result in huge damages to the environment. The proper prevention, prediction and monitoring of environmental disasters should be based on the up-to-date spatial Information regarding selected territory. Several disasters, such as flooding or forest fire, have sometimes regional or interregional character hence the spatial information should be referred to such territories. The modern warning systems should be based on the integrated information collected in the databases of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The up-to-date information, regarding terrain surface, can be acquired by photogrammetric or remote sensing techniques. Both techniques deliver complementary set of information which are very useful on the all stages of disaster warning system. The paper presents Author's opinion regarding the integrated approach to the application of photogrammetric and remote sensing data on all stages of the disaster management, both on local and regional scale. In the paper selected examples from Poland, which mainly refer to flood and fire disasters, are given.
